Beautiful beautiful Weekend!

Hi guys!
I'm having such a nice time in Slovenia! It's so beautiful! My time with both the Pugelj family and the Špehar family have been amazing, and it's sad to think I only have 2 more days here in this amazingly green country...

So as I mentioned, on Saturday, Jože and I visited a large lake about 2 hours from Ljubljana, and wow-- it was just... Wow...
Maybe you know this, maybe you don't, but in California, our family goes camping every summer at a place called Sardine Lake/Sand Pond, and that place is literally my favorite place in the world. More than my room, more than my school. And this lake we visited reminded me so much of Sardine Lake area and so that was just a truly wonderful experience.
The lake, Bohinj, was in the middle of all these mountains and forests, much like California, and provided the most amazing views, seen above. The water was very cold- it is a snow run-off lake, after all. But it was crystal clear, but gained depth very quickly; just after 15 feet or so, there was a large drop off.
The beach wasn't made of sand, but small rocks and pebbles, which wasn't the most comfortable for laying down on, but oh well.
Also I saw two amazing clouds that I will probably never see again: a chicken and a whale!!
Seriously, look at how perfect that chicken is! It even has an eye and a beak and a wing!!
The other thing we did on Saturday was visit a waterfall-- well... "Visit" is a funny term. When I say Visit, I mean that when we drove to the trailhead, we discovered that they were charging money to take the main path up! Which is just absurd, right? Like, who would make you pay money to hike up to a waterfall? Jože's solution to that was to hike upstream, on all the large boulders. We, along with a German girl who was just as outraged with the price, tried that, and made it to a good 300 feet in, before we looked up at the sky and saw storm clouds coming, so we decided not to risk it. Played it safe. But look at how beautiful it would have been:
As we were driving back to Grosuplje (the town next to Ljubljana that they live in), about 30 minutes after we turned around on the rocks, a torrential downpour began, very suddenly. I was so so so glad that we turned around when we did...
The rain didn't let up, either. Jože, who was hungry, decided it would be a good time to pull over at a diner so he could eat and we could wait for the storm to blow over. Ugh that was great. The cafe had hot chocolate on the menu, so what else would I, Joshua Pugel, order?
Except that when they say Hot Chocolate, I think they should say Melted a Chocolate, because that's about how thick it was. Imagine hot Chocolate Pudding that's a bit thinner, and that was this.

That was Saturday. On Sunday, Jože and I drove over to their house in Croatia, in the village Prubancji. (I think I spelled that right...) Although I'm not sure it counts as real Croatia, because the village is a minute's drive from the border between Slovenia, just separated by a river and a bridge.
But Wowie, this house was beautiful! It was just a couple minutes away from the ticker by walking, and there were gardens all around and so much grass and so many trees.
I made friends with Jože's cousin's cats, seen above, even though they were scared of me...
For lunch, we prepared a salad consisting of Feta Cheese, Bacon, and Cucumber. But the meat was really salty, which gave too much flavor to the salad. It was still really good, nonetheless.

When we visited the river, there were a lot of skipping rocks, so I attempted that again and proved that I have no capability of making flat, round, perfect skipping rocks... Skip... Oh well.

When we drove back, we went to an Art Exhibition with a guided tour with Jože's girlfriend.
Too bad it was all in Slovenian...
Oops...

Anyway, I can't believe I only have two days left here. Today, Monday, is my lazy day, because it's the last free day I have, as far as I know. Tomorrow, we are visiting a couple more caves in the area, and then I leave for Vienna on Wednesday.
I'm going to miss this country a lot...
